Introductory

This Privacy Policy should be read in conjunction with our Terms of Use (Terms), available through our website, where the capitalised terms used in this policy that are not defined here are defined.

The Service is a cloud-based service for analysing, manipulating and transforming documents through which users upload documents, process them, and download and/or view output.

In this Privacy Policy, Personal Information means personal identifying information.

What kinds of Personal Information we collect and store

We collect the email address and names of users (Account Information).

Users also may upload User Content containing Personal Information of all kinds. Output may also contain personal information.

Our third-party payment service provider (identified through our website) collects credit card and payment-related information about users.

How we collect Personal Information and where it is stored

We collect Account Information when users create an account, either directly (where offered) or via a single sign-on provider such as Google or Microsoft.

Users also may upload User Content containing Personal Information. Output may also contain Personal Information.

We store such information with one or more cloud service provider(s), who store that information in Australia.

Documents and account information are stored in Australia (Sydney). Where you use an AI feature, the text of those documents is processed by Anthropic outside Australia.

Credit card information and payment-related information is collected, processed or stored by our payment service provider(s) identified on our Website. You should consult their Privacy Policy for further details.

Our third-party service providers (TPSPs) who help us provide the Service may use, reproduce, and display Account Information, User Content and Output for the purpose of providing the Service.

Why we collect Personal Information

We collect Personal Information in order to create distinct user identities.

Personal Information contained within User Content is collected by us in order to provide the Service.

How we'll use and disclose Personal Information

We will use or disclose Personal Information for the purpose of providing the Service or for our legitimate corporate purposes, or those of third-party service providers (TPSPs), including upgrading the Service, resolving any issue with the Service, verifying your compliance with, or enforcing, the Terms, including verifying that User Content or Output is not Illegal Material, or for our internal compliance or record-keeping purposes or those of such TPSPs. For other circumstances in which personal information may be disclosed (for example, under subpoena), consult the Terms.

Our TPSPs include Anthropic, PBC, which provides the large language model used by our AI features. User Content is sent to Anthropic only when you run an AI feature, and only the text of the documents you selected.

Our TPSPs also include PostHog, which provides product analytics. We send it a record of which functions are used and whether they succeeded. We do not send it your documents, their filenames, or their contents.

Storage and deletion of Personal Information

You are responsible for deleting User Content. User Content is if not deleted generally stored for use, subject to storage limits applicable to a User's subscription tier. We will use reasonable endeavours to delete Output from our servers after a reasonable time after generation.

If required for our corporate record keeping, risk management or compliance purposes or for other legitimate purpose or if we deem it appropriate in view of potential or actual litigation or law enforcement activity, we may retain User Content or Output until such purpose has been discharged or until such potential or actual litigation or law enforcement activity has been completed.

See also “Privacy” section in the Terms.

Do you use AI, and what happens to my documents?

Three features – AI timelines, network extraction and AI summaries – send the text of the documents you select to Anthropic, PBC, which runs the language model that drafts them. This happens only when you run one of those features. No other part of the Service sends your documents anywhere outside our own systems.

That data is submitted to Anthropic pursuant to its commercial terms of service, as published on its website from time to time.

The text is processed outside Australia.

You can use every other DocJuicr tool without any document leaving our systems.

How you can access your Personal Information, or ask for a correction

By email (see “Our name and contact details”). You may be required to take reasonable steps to authenticate your identity.

How to lodge a complaint if you think your information has been mishandled

By email (see “Our name and contact details”), setting out all material details of your complaint, supporting documentation where available, and identifying clearly the grounds of complaint relied on.

How we'll handle your complaint

See the section “Complaints Handling” in the Terms.

If we are likely to disclose your information outside Australia and, if practical, which countries we are likely to disclose the information to
